Overtime Heart Breaker Ends Hawk's Season!!
The Atom A Hawks saw their season come to an end after a gut wrenching 3-2 overtime loss to the Midland Centennials on Monday night. It was a tough loss for the Hawks after such a valiant effort. After 3 close games, each team scored 5 goals but Midland took home the championship. Kudos to the Hawks as they left it all on the ice this evening. The Hawks thought victory was in sight but the Centennials battled back hard to tie the game at 2 each with a late third period goal. The Hawks even killed a penalty late in the game that carried into the overtime frame. It was starting to look like game #4 was headed back to Collingwood until a late goal in overtime officially ended the Hawk's season. After 7 long months at the arena, the Hawks should be proud of their grit and determination especially in the post-season. Congratulations to the Centennials on both their OMHA and Georgian Bay Championships. We look forward to taking those back next year!! A special thanks goes out to all the parents for their committment and support this season and for raising such great young men. No doubt we have had our share of 6:00 AM practices this year! I would like to congratulate Emmett Sproule and Nick Newhouse as they will represent the Hawks at this weekend's All-Star game in Creemore. Enjoy the experience! Once again, thanks to Rob, Wayne, Brent and Chris for your dedication, passion and the positive influence you have had on all our players. See you at the rink!

Hawks Force Game #3 in Midland!!
With their backs against the wall and their season on the line, the Collingwood Atom A Hawks came out and played probably their finest game of the year Wednesday evening in their home barn. With contributions from every player, the Hawks defeated the Centennials by a score of 2-0. Once again, the fans were treated to some excellent goaltending as both teams battled hard to the end. The Hawks played with an enormous amount of pride and intensity and stayed positive as they outshot Midland in the first period but could not put one behind the Midland goalie. Their persistence paid off and they were able to keep the Centennials off the score board. It all boils down to Game #3 in Midland this Monday night. You won't want to miss this one folks. The arena will be electric!! Come on Hawks!! Bring home the championship!!
